Description of evaluation tools
The Quality Child Care Consultation Coordinator will begin the consultation with an assessment tool of your choice, such as the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale – Revised (ECERS-R), or the Infant Environment Rating Scale – Revised (ITERS-R). The School Age Care Environment Rating Scale (SACERS), the Family Child Care Rating Scale (FCCRS) and SpeciaLink are also available for quality assessments.
Once the evaluation is complete, the Coordinator will meet with staff to deliver feedback in a narrative summary of results. From the results, we can develop a quality plan of action through in service support, goal setting, follow up visits, parent information, and specific staff training and professional development opportunities.
